FIRE WARDEN TRAINING - GUILDFORD
Following the success of our Fire Warden training sessions in London and direct ‘in- house’ training to businesses local to Guildford, Hurtwood Fire is now taking invitations for Fire Warden and Fire Manager training in the centre of Guildford at the Mandolay Hotel. Subject to interest and offers taken, we are looking to run courses every other month.
HALF-DAY TRAINING COURSES
Although the training we provide for the likes of G- Live, Fitzpatrick Referrals, Honeywell and some residential care homes are usually a day- long event, the half- day programmes being offered here are quality fire safety training courses for those with a Fire Warden or similar role.
Run as a 3 hour session with morning and afternoon slots available, the content will encompass all aspects of fire safety responsibilities necessary for a typical office or work place environment for a Fire Warden or even a manager.
Tailored for Fire Wardens & Fire Managers
Understanding and appreciating the key aspects of the law and the Fire Safety Order is briefly initially covered to enhance the knowledge base of the recipient and to value their important responsibility.
Covering the day to day fire safety routines it extends, as is required, to understanding what fire is, its development and how it spreads. Design principles of escape routes are discussed and how they protect occupants from the effects of fire and smoke so they can reach a place of safety. Human behaviour and supporting those with disabilities in a fire situation places a degree of responsibility on the Fire Warden and it is important that they appreciate their role. It will bring to their attention the importance of a fire safety plan that incorporates a detailed fire emergency evacuation procedure that covers all eventualities.
Highlighting the requirements to maintain records, check fire safety equipment and identifying fire risks and hazards will all also add to their skills and provide a degree of competence to support both the Fire Safety Manager and their business.
In addition to the theory of the appropriate fire extinguisher to use, the sessions also include practical training in the use of portable fire fighting equipment typically located in an office workplace, using real live- fire training equipment.

Bear in mind that it is a requirement of the Fire Safety Order (The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) that employers provide appropriate and relevant fire safety and refresher training for employees with additional fire safety roles. They must also maintain evidence of it so please consider what we are able to provide for you.
The costs will be in the region of £70 per person and that will include practical fire extinguisher training with flame.
