A Fire Risk Assessment involves the evaluation of property to identify the fire hazards or potential fire hazards in a building and to then determine the overall risk to relevant persons in and around that building.
Following a fire that has been attended by the Fire Service the Officer in Charge of the incident has to establish the most likely cause of the fire before he leaves the incident. If they are unable to establish a cause it is generally accepted that a Fire Service fire investigator is requested to gather, record and prepare a more formal report.
